This is wildly misreading the piece? It talks about the Tories going back on a manifesto promise and how the BBC can either cut its funding for loads of channels or do this. It doesn’t say to focus on this over young people’s issues? But sure, go off on a young female writer.

Yeah but the govt is saying they won’t pay. And the BBC paying would mean potentially cutting funding to programmes that...do highlight these issues? Seriously, going to town on a young writer is really awful to do when you’re a big name online, I’d consider deleting this.

I really don't think I have the kind of influence you think I do. I've never got upset with anyone, however many followers they have, for drawing attention to something I've written. That's how online debate works. I didn't attack her, it wasn't personal, I just think she's wrong
