No, they're not, but given that a growing group of pensioners get a disproportionate amount of government attention and resources, regardless of need, it seems narrow-minded and irresponsible to spend a whole article fixating on TV licences.
Yeah but the govt is saying they won’t pay. And the BBC paying would mean potentially cutting funding to programmes that...do highlight these issues? Seriously, going to town on a young writer is really awful to do when you’re a big name online, I’d consider deleting this.

I wasn't going to town on her, I was disagreeing with what she wrote in that tweet, which I think perpetuates the fixation in this country with bribing pensioners at the expense of young people. But hey, first time I've ever been called a big name online.
