If you use Chrome, there will be extensions which block out pictures/videos and let you just read the text. (Or this? https://merabheja.com/stop-images-showing-web-pages/ … ) (Useful when you want to read game guides at work and don’t want your colleagues to notice >_> )

You can use permissions.default.image in Firefox to disable all image loading, if that would work. There’s a way to do it per-site too. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1226175 … Combined with noscript blocking objects and media, I think you’d be good to go.
