.....yes, but cost of living is very bad? the tweet is an existential joke about how we overemphasise "prominent jobs" over "jobs that give us enough money to live like normal people"

Yeah I can imagine. I wanted to work in politics. Decided to go to Edinburgh rather than London. Spent 2 years volunteering etc & hot no where and so now have worked in retail for 15 years. Not the job I wanted, but good money & quality of life & Edinburgh. Tricky choices

A while back we considered moving to London for better career options, then realised we would have to live in Reading and commute. So decided to stay in Edinburgh (well, soon moving to Haddington)
