Email. But 99% of my parties are lunches or dinners where I cook for every guest, and so I need formal RSVPs in advance to shop and meal plan. Email suits that model, but I accept it's quite an old-school way to socialize.

Apologies but I'm good at this. The ratio of invitees:attendees on public forums *if you make no further effort* is around 4:1. FB events seem like less effort than DM but really, to get to this to 3:1 or less, you have to DM your "yesses" 1 week out to get firm commitments.
