Sorry for a thread but I am so tired and so, so angry: My sister has been in the hospital for over 24h now, expecting to be seen for a minor procedure, which turned into emergency surgery, which turned into being admitted bc more serious cases took precedence (obviously fair).

I'm so sorry you've both had to go through this - when Adi was in hospital the other week the NHS staff were absolutely incredible and I can't imagine how I would have coped if she'd been treated like your sister has.

like seriously, i don't mean to sound like *that person* banging on about the great and wonderful NHS, but i was blown away by how wonderful they were. tia's had some really shitty NHS staff in the past, but yest they were astonishingly good and the private staff have been awful

Over a decade ago my grandad got sent to a private hospital for a heart bypass which was delayed on the NHS. He contracted a superbug and nearly died. He was saved by an NHS intensive care unit. No ones fault but again it shows that private isn’t better. Hope your sister is OK!

I was treated much better for surgery in an NHS hospital than private (on the NHS!) - and the NHS have been brilliant with my ankle, albeit totally under resourced
