i don't think you're thinking of the same thing man. i think you're thinking of dolmades (the greek version) with is rice and minced beef wrapped in vine leaves

No, they “fill” tomatoes, green peppers and eggplants. The Turks call our vine leaf dolmades sarma or something like this. A Turkish friend of mine told me once that dolma means to fill and sarma (if I remember the word correctly) to wrap.

if you're turkish i don't mean to turkish-splain to you, but i do not think that's entirely right. i think it's commonly considered to be how you refer to the vine leaves
