That's not the intent. I see how it can be read that way, but given that someone tried to invalidate my PTSD and literal expertise to try to argue I don't understand the game, I'm not so compelled to be precise in all my words
I’m sorry they did that — that wasn’t fair at all. Just a heads up that it *is* being interpreted that way, and by folks who don’t think at all badly of you or your expertise.
Hopefully the clarification helps. I've always argued people are free to like anything; the line for me was attempting to defend by saying "you don't get it" instead of actually trying to defend it. It's an attempt to nullify a _person_ to defend a work they won't engage with
It's "I don't want to actually defend this, I just want to put you down because it's easier for me." It's being insulting to avoid considering there might be problems, which is how people who aren't media literate act. I love great disagreements with people who are willing to try
