can we just assume that most people online are nice folks who just don't feel the need to project every kind deed? or are sympathetic to just causes despite not getting involved in every public conversation? please?

I choose to believe that too, not least because it's the case for a lot of folks I know IRL: doing the right thing for the sake of it being right and not shouting about it after because it was never about validation.
