I feel like my whole life is this dance of being quiet because people won’t get me, slowly getting comfortable, eventually revealing my true self, then backing off again when once again the real me was Too Much.

The only me people actually like is the fake ass ‘charming’ shit that I can only manage for about 10 minutes at a time and requires at least two weeks hibernation to recuperate from.

I wouldn't say that, you come across as incredibly intellectual and I would love to talk to you for longer. I felt the same thing for many years (people barely tolerating me) up until I joined Sumo. Seriously, be yourself. Don't feel you need to pretend around people.
