I feel like my whole life is this dance of being quiet because people won’t get me, slowly getting comfortable, eventually revealing my true self, then backing off again when once again the real me was Too Much.

I wouldn't say that, you come across as incredibly intellectual and I would love to talk to you for longer. I felt the same thing for many years (people barely tolerating me) up until I joined Sumo. Seriously, be yourself. Don't feel you need to pretend around people.

I rarely think that of anyone, but that definitely doesn't cross my mind when interacting with you. Seriously I wouldn't worry too much. Twitter is an interesting place. Do you feel this outside of Twitter?

More so. I’m way more confident about my persona on Twitter than howI come across in person.
