Writers; do you have days you’d set aside to write and then it’s the one day you just can’t face it? Any motivational advice?

I switch from prose and try writing the scene as a screenplay. Taking the emphasis away from prosaic style and focussing on the dialogue and action helps me get into the flow, get everything down, and acts as a fantastic skeleton for when I switch back to prose, making it easier.
Alternatively, if I just can’t write then I’ll read instead. I have a book on writing by my bed that usually inspires me out of a slump. I keep that there along with a rotation of well-written fiction. Sometimes I just need to inject myself with the rhythm of good words.
