Valuable contribution = many things. Maybe it’s to highlight that people should read the entire associated thread, or to reinforce how awesome someone is. Maybe the tweet needs context. Loads of reasons. Just maybe reconsider if your reason is “I want attention”.
Na, I get what you're saying. Like, why retweet with a comment saying something like "This." when a retweet by itself is already saying that.
Exactly! Definitely done it myself sometimes, I just... well, I guess I've become a little cynical about it all.
