MCV 30 Under 30 2021 
Anyone got any tips for being okay with shitty first drafts? I need to break my habit of endless revision, but I'm seemingly incapable of making progress if I hate what I have so far... which I almost always do.

for me i really had to adopt the mentality that the first draft is supposed to be flawed, otherwise iteration is impossible. but i'd love to hear other's strats.
Just how flawed is acceptable? Because there are days when flawed is passable, just needs a little polish... and there are days when flawed is atrocious and you wonder why the hell you ever thought you could do this. Is one kind of flawed more permissible than the other?

Are there degrees of flawed where one is expected to say "Nope, that cannot remain unrevised"?

hmm interesting question to think about. my instinct is to say that it just depends how much you want to iterate. but maybe its worth simultaneously asking how perfect is necessary?

My instinct is to aim for as few iterations as possible, but that's the very behaviour that's causing me problems. So I'm thinking I should just permit whatever trash I come up with for the time being, except I feel like I need permission to do that - Pokaż odpowiedzi

No, any amount of flawed is fine. It can always get fixed later. As long as you have the broad swathes down as to what is happening like a storyboard, the rest can be tinkerer with later.
