unrelated but to this day i'm still unsure of what exactly a british pudding is. some look like a liquid, some look like sausage, some look like a pastry????? wtf is going on????
Sorry to just jump in, but yes, dessert is synonymous with pudding here. I have frankly no idea what a pudding in the specific sense would look like.

1. Pudding = dessert 2. Also the name of specific desserts eg bread and butter pudding 3. Pudding is never that liquidy chocolatey stuff that comes in a cup, we don't really have that Bonus: pudding also = steamed foods that often use suet, some are savoury and include offal
