Was Attack on Titan fash? I've been recommended it a couple of times but I vaguely recall some people saying the writer(s) are nationalists and it starts being explicit in the work.

Idk about Isayama’s personal politics. Further down the line AOT starts using pretty overt imagery to draw comparisons to the holocaust, but it’s very clear from the storytelling that it’s denouncing it.

When the episode depicting holocaust came out, a lot of people (some of whom who admitted they had never seen/read it) took to Twitter to call it fascist, so you’re probably thinking of AOT. But from reading it myself, that’s not the message itself conveying at all.

There are certainly grey areas if you follow the line of reasoning and the comparisons being made between different groups when converted to the fantasy premise. But it’s still clear who the heroes are.
