I’ve seen some responses to the Star Wars Sims expansion saying “If I wanted a Star Wars game, I’d play [insert combat-driven game here]”. And sure, but have you considered that not everyone who likes Star Wars likes combat games? And that Star Wars is about more than combat?
Sure, that margin may be small, and there are other issues besides. But those people exist. I have a friend who loves the Sims, adores Star Wars — but more ‘traditional’ games? Hates them. And when I told her about this? She was over the moon. This is for her.

I personally love both and think it's a great/interesting combi. Sure not what I was expecting but welcome none the less!
I remember Star Wars Galaxies having a dancer/bard class who's core gameplay was chilling in the cantina, socialising and buffing the combat players and charging a fee for it. It is a galaxy, not everyone is a Jedi or a fighter
From what I've seen, a lot of the community discourse has been because this is another new addition that hasn't listened to what the community wants. I understand both sides tbh but I do think this will probably be a lovely little pack for SW fans :)

I'm super excited by it, I am that person who loves The Sims, and Star Wars, who doesn't like combat and doesn't have time for long drawn out narratives.

Totally agreed! My Dad and I spent a lot of time bonding over the podracing game and it was awesome.
