Growing up a Christian taught me self-hatred and socialism. I wonder how many others that's true for — and what went wrong with so many Christian conservatives.

Definitely true for me! Don't wanna get Too Personal up in the twitter feed but this exact dichotomy is something I think about a LOT.
Right? Feel free to DM if you ever wanna chat about it. I was always slightly perplexed by the idea of Christian conservatism (at least financially), but it's only recently been dawning on me how many of my confidence issues have their root in how I was taught to think about God.
