Why are plant care websites so reticent to even give an estimation of how often to water or fertilize plants? Yes yes soil dryness but a rough time estimate would be handy? Literally the website I'm looking at says 'fertilize throughout the growing season'. THAT DOES NOT HELP.

I read one earlier that said to water my plant when it requires it, followed by "it might be a day, it might be 7" WHAT DOES THIS MEAN PLANT WEBSITES!? I need help to be a good plant parent
Haha, similar story not five minutes ago! "This plant loves water -- water it at regular intervals! BUT DON'T WATER IT TOO MUCH OR IT WILL DIE!!!"

The plant equivalent of "draw the rest of the fucking owl"

The reason for this is they don't know where you live, your humidity, or if the plant is indoors or outside. Whether it's in terracotta or plastic pot. That's far too many variables to give you an estimate. Proper care is to stick your finger in the pot and judge how wet it is.

Moisture meters!! I let everything dry out then give it a drink, some of them take ages to dry out, the ones that dry out in like, a day, are the thirsty bitches who need more water. I fertilise most of mine when I can remember, my palm gets it every time I water tho
