I don't know how much of it is me and how much of it is folks being afraid of just being straight-up 'this was good' rather than 'this was good + some kind of detractor' Like (I talked about this the other day) ADDING THE WORD GENERALLY
'Your work is great' = 
'Your work is generally great' = me now obsessing over the times when it wasn't and how distinct they must have been in order to justify the extra word of detraction
