One thing that always bugs me... when you say ‘generally’, do you usually mean it in the positive, glass-half-full sense of ‘consistently’, or in the glass-half-empty sense of ‘with exceptions’?

Whaaaaat. In this instance I would take generally to mean "most of the time." Huh.
I almost ALWAYS take it badly in my head. If someone says something nice but adds ‘generally’, I’ll legitimately be more sad than if they’d said nothing because it feels like they were going out of their way to make sure I knew it’s not 100% true.
