I'm excited to see the industry embrace different approaches to design that appeal to more than one demographic. Please keep innovating. I can't wait to start creating and playing more different kinds of games that follow something other than the trampled path.

Useful at choice points. But the directive to inject conflict into every possible moment doesn't translate as we assume into interactive media, and we need to re-evaluate accordingly to consider whether we're achieving what we intend.
(This has tangented slightly. I still think stories need conflict, and that, in games, the player should sometimes be complicit. But just that we need a more steady, intentional hand with it)

I’m sure you’re both aware of this, but if you were looking for another point of validation that there’s a whole swath of people looking for conflict/stress-free gaming, the popularity of Animal Crossing is undeniable.

My partner plays games sparingly. She loves BotW but mostly watches me play and helps with puzzles. She hates the combat and the stress cause by being attacked/chased. She’s putting a good 3-4 hours into AC each day, has been watching YT vids, and optimizing with friends.
