My guy friends look at me like I'm crazy whenever I say that I don't like feeling stressed in games, that is does nothing for me. Can we break away from this idea that this makes me a "bad" gamer and instead open our minds to the different ways that people connect with media?
I feel like we're seeing more breadth in games lately, particularly indie games. Moar pls.
I feel similarly. I don’t mind being a bit stressed but I want to feel other things as well and not simply frustrated by a lack of skill. Do you think that you would be more satisfied with conflict if you reacted non-violently, found clever solutions, and helped people as well?
Absolutely. Like you, I don't mind so long as it's balanced with enough of what I like, and giving players the ability to overcome conflict in their personal preferred style is pretty much a win-win.
