Well now it feels like he only said it because he thought it would make stuff go away, rather than because we were owed an apology.
And that makes sense. The virtue-signaling, the fawning, the threats, all of it served one purpose: his. I always thought it was odd (and off-putting) that if I disagreed with him, he would immediately come around to my POV.
The apology used a lot of the same language that he used to prevent anyone from calling him out (“I’ll change, I swear, just don’t call me on it”) and I think he was probably disappointed it didn’t work this time. I’m so mad.
