I feel like an ass. Taking others at their word, believing the best in people and having faith that men can be reforged meant that I did not see this for what it was earlier.

I spent time and energy trying to help R, along with multiple others. Not wanting to badmouth him or taint others' perceptions of him with my experience because I thought he just needed help. Turns out, my experience was valid. And it would have been good for others to know.

I'm sorry.

Please don't blame yourself. I know this is rich coming from me, currently blaming myself, but our kindness is not our fault. We'll have our guards up in the future, which is something we shouldn't have to do.

Same boat as you two. Tried to help him for so long and also struggling not to blame on myself. But you two are incredibly talented and kind and we deserve better. I'm keepin' it chill on twitter for now, but my DMs are open. This is the worst version of the "same hat" meme.
