Right. Today, I'm making a promise myself. I will no longer entertain people who make me uncomfortable out of fear of being perceived as impolite. No more trying to keep everyone happy. I just don't have the energy.

You know when your phone goes off and your stress levels spike out of nowhere? Nah. Not putting up with that anymore.

I feel like an ass. Taking others at their word, believing the best in people and having faith that men can be reforged meant that I did not see this for what it was earlier.

I spent time and energy trying to help R, along with multiple others. Not wanting to badmouth him or taint others' perceptions of him with my experience because I thought he just needed help. Turns out, my experience was valid. And it would have been good for others to know.
