Thanks all for your kind words! This has been a dream of mine for almost ten years and it still hasn't sunk in that it's actually, finally going to be a reality. It's also super validating considering that the piece I submitted was the first 5k of my novel.
Like... I can't convey how it feels to have the story I've been dying to tell for so many years validated by an institution I have so much respect for. That they feel I have the skill, or at least the potential to tell it. Hell yeah. Let's do this.
