(Just to clarify, I still intend on continuing with A Plague Tale and there's much I enjoyed about LIS2, and I don't reaaaally hate you, I'm just annoyed you made me watch a dog die)
I definitely found Plague Tale to be very front-loaded with over-used devices intended to get a rise out of the player or enhance its grittiness and hook you. I found it gets a bit better as you go on and it assumes it has you hooked now.
