Aight. Gonna be hella blunt and honest. A part of me is selfishly upset about GDC, IGDA Scholars, and graduating after ten hard years of college the year there’s a pandemic. I’ve had some shit years lately. I scraped and clawed to finally overcome my issues and the world shifts.

Your feelings are valid. Doesn't matter whether the cause is big or small. Doesn't matter the context, or what they're juxtaposed against. They are still valid, and it's understandable that you feel them. I would have been gutted in your position too.

The GDC opportunity was huge. By comparison, I lost three holidays which were literally just leisure and I got one of them refunded, but am I still upset about that? Hell yes. I was looking forward to those holidays, and I'm still down about 500 quid.

If I'm upset, you can definitely be upset.

It's not the being upset part that should be under scrutiny here, or that makes us selfish -- it's whether we act upon it and put others at risk. Which you're not doing. So you're good :)

I appreciate it. Also missing out on a holiday would be the pits. Much less 3. Thank you for understanding though. I’m so gutted about GDC and the opportunities I missed out on. Especially the people I was so excited to finally put faces too!
