Hello, my degree was in writing and acting, and now I make a good salary writing for games despite people like this asshole telling me it would be wasted. If I'd done anything else, I wouldn't have excelled and would have been unhappy. Give him the chance to pursue his interests.

I remember guidance counsellor of our school phoning my parents to tell them how useless my planned university education (Hebrew & Arabic) was going to be. 7 years later, asked me to come talk to school about how I got my good job at Google (spoiler: my MLitt in languages!)
