Pressing on instead of rewriting the same sections over and over. And after doing a lot of script stuff: keeping my writing from feeling stale and functional, though I found a great online resource for that today on Skillshare.

Question-wise, I often wonder how different people’s first drafts are from their final manuscripts, how much they polish as they write, what unpolished even looks like. Also, how they go about breaking down the plot, which I spend far too long on.

i had a way wilder time with dangerous crowns' drafting process than i thought i would. i'm a "polish as i go" type, but i decided i'd experiment with rushing down the first draft the way everyone tells you to, and wow did i make a mess. it was a real learning experience!

i'm working on another one now, and even with trying to be more careful than last time, i've had enormous plot upheavals that i didn't expect. i'd be happy to chat about it, i love talking about this stuff! i've got screenshots of outlines and WIP scenes and everything.

That’s very kind. I absolutely would be interested in seeing that and chatting about this stuff!
