I know it's selfish to be sad, but I am sad I'm not going to rezzed and then no Avril Lavigne either 
but I know it's the right thing but still a mega bummer

It would be selfish if you tried to go out and socialise. It’s not selfish to be sad about losing things you were looking forward to, or to be unhappy with life as it currently is — that is a very valid and reasonable response. You are not being selfish :)

Definitely confusing, and lots of other things. And there are a lot of strong emotions and opinions flying about. But what you’ve described doesn’t deserve heat. Some folks are unreasonable, sure, but an unreasonable opinion embarrasses itself. No need to worry about them :)
