I’m guessing the Dan Harmon hero’s journey video has fallen out of fashion, but it’s a pretty good one!
I currently have four videos in the playlist and that's one of them :) I'm personally a fan of comparing what I have to established plot structures to see how it measures up, if there's an element I've missed that might improve the work

Yes! I know there are folks who look down on using the hero’s journey for story guidance, but I totally disagree. Thousands of years of storytelling under our belts, and we’ve figured out some pretty good tips over the millennia.

Absolutely. I like to think of it as a recipe. A cook will follow the recipe to the letter and produce exactly the same thing. A chef will draw upon the recipe and use it to sense check measurements, but innovate along the way for something new and surprising.
