It's hard to truly care about the Corona virus in the UK. The people most vulnerable to it have made it perfectly clear over the last two decades that they don't mind if other people die.

Bit of an overgeneralisation there, mate. A Venn diagram of vulnerable people vs the group you mention would far from resemble an eclipse.
