I don't understand the comparison to Milliband? He was shit as well. Well principled but not really a good leader. Labour hasn't had a charismatic front since Blair.

How do you not understand the comparison with the previous Labour leader who was also treated badly by the press and lost?

But they're all treated badly. I don't think it's a new thing at all? These press institutions have existed for decades.

That's the point! Whoever was in charge they'd have got the same treatment. Was Corbyn a problem for some? Undoubtedly. Was he the *main* reason Labour lost this election? No. Brexit and disinformation. That's the difference.

But Corbyn is responsible for adapting to that. That is political strategy. He chose the wrong one. Twice. And that falls with him. I'm sorry but this is entirely his loss to bear. Sure the Tories lied. But what's new there.

You just going to ignore the Brexit point? Any Labour leader would have found themselves in an impossible position - the base was split, the Tories dodged scrutiny more than ever, and harnessed social media, the right-wing press *and* the BBC to spread their lies further.

The Brexit thing is difficult yeah. But not all conservatives voted Leave. So it's not like you had half an electorate of surefire bets? And, again, they weren't clear on their strategy. Half the time Corbyn didn't want to talk about Brexit. That's unforgivable.

Because he wanted to talk about ways to fix the country's problems, knowing full well that committing firmly to either side was basically splitting his base in half.

Yes. Knowingly splitting your base in half is definitely a brilliant political strategy.

Like, I know what he did is fundamentally right. I respect him as a man. But that's always been his problem. He won't play the game. And the odds of the game are so stacked against him already that to so wilfully abstain from playing is absolutely mad when so much is at stake.
