What’s better in the face of unconstructive criticism: the self-belief to ignore it and follow your vision or the humility to say you’re probably wrong and you just don’t understand why yet?

I tend to take on 99% of feedback, though if I do feel embarrassed then I might not vocalise it to the person criticising, or there may be a delay. If I do reject feedback, it’s after a lot of consideration, but even then I get anxious and doubt myself.
I’m aware that not all feedback will be right, and I worry that trusting ALL feedback will damage/sterilise my work, but then I don’t know if I can trust myself when judging what to listen to.

Confidence is a funny thing, right? Generally accumulated by praise from other people and "success" (usually also rated by praise) yet it's required primarily so you can ignore what other people think

It helps me to remember that creative vision and taste is totally subjective. There is no definitive right and wrong answers until you establish firm creative goals. It's those goals you need to believe in and hold firm too, and it's the path there that can be debated
