Not a fan of quests where you have to convince an NPC not to kill themselves. They often make it seem like a few words is all it takes, then you can go on your way to save the world and that person will be magically fine. It oversimplifies a very complex issue.

Yeah that does seem to trivialise it. Having been in that situation in real life twice it sure is tough. Although part of me thinks encouraging talking being a solution isn’t a bad start. Conflicted on that one

I think showing players the right approach to take when soothing someone in a very dark place is good, but so often it feels like it’s there just to make the players feel good. They don’t have to then take any responsibility — on they go, on their merry way, feeling great.
