Which POC has actually raised objections, what is the substance of their argument? Genuine question

All I know is what’s in the same article you shared. But I had the same question.

I’m interested to know whether it was actually raised by a person of colour in the first place. If so, I wanna understand

Sometimes when you dig into these stories, it's actually well-meaning white people trying to be allies who are raising objections

And then POC are like, "Thanks for the effort! But uh, actually no we don't think there's a problem here". Then general embarrassment ensues

Have you heard personally people from Bideford complaining about this? Curious to know if these reports are inflaming racial tensions? You could probably find out more by writing to the councillors mentioned in the report, they tend to be quite responsive.

No, honestly I found out through the news and haven’t spoken to my mum about it yet. My concerns come from knowing the general attitudes in the area growing up/visiting — most folks are generally quite tolerant, but they really don’t like having to change for folks.
