Sometimes when you dig into these stories, it's actually well-meaning white people trying to be allies who are raising objections

And then POC are like, "Thanks for the effort! But uh, actually no we don't think there's a problem here". Then general embarrassment ensues

Also right-wing newspapers sometimes deliberately shit-stir these things, causing controversies where there are none, and blame it all on "political correctness gone mad".
