Changed my mind. Further comment. Words are more OP than people give them credit for. Consider their effect. Making people feel stupid or belittled makes them stubborn and entrenches beliefs. Are you prioritising principle over cause and effect?

Maybe I’m being overly dramatic, but most of our generation hasn’t seen a war. And the world is changing. Right now, twitter feels like a battlefield, and words are the guns. But it’s all just words right? A derogatory tweet is harmless... right? If it’s deemed deserved?

Let’s not forget why a lot of people voted for Trump, voted for Brexit. Let’s consider not the logical arguments, but the emotions driving those votes. What are we doing to counteract that? Are your words helping, or are they widening the division?

Tell you what, widening that gap (and alienating swing voters and existing allies) won’t help you build a majority vote.

This turned into a LOT of further comment. I guess it’s just something I’m thinking a lot about, and call it my quarter life crisis, but I’m frightened. I know there’s a lot of very well deserved anger, but PLEASE consider whether it’s worth acting on that anger on principle.

Thanks. I won’t say anything more about this now. I’m too tired.
