Offensiveness is personal and subjective to everyone. Good comedy shouldn't care about what offends you, it should only care if it's funny.

It's dependant on who the comic is, as there are plenty of comedians who have made their careers using racial stereotypes like Russel Peters or Margaret Cho. How much a joke offends you has nothing to do with whether it's funny or not.

Take Dave Chappelle for example, he wrote amazing pieces of satire where racism was the punchline of the joke, like the black white supremacist. Racism being an objective thing that can't be jokes about is just not true. It depends on the skill of the comedian handling the joke.

Good jokes and bad jokes both come from the same place. It's that attempt to make people laugh, but whether a joke works or not is not based on its offensiveness, but rather how well thought out the idea was.
