This is something I wonder about. The games studios I’m interested in are all far away, both from each other and from where I am now. I’ve kinda accepted that I’m gonna be living in a lot of different places, but it’s not really fair to inflict that on kids.
I’m very career oriented, but I do want kids one day and if I want more than one with a year or two in between then I have less than ten years of career left before I have to choose somewhere to settle. It frightens me.
Fair point! I guess maybe I’m just talking about moving between companies as a kind of progression rather than necessarily becoming a senior in and of itself
