Gamedevs who have relocated for work: any tips on getting used to a new place/handling the overwhelming-ness? I’m so stoked for my new job, it’s everything else I’m trying to get a handle on!

For me it was simply accepting the fact that it was gonna be scary and that I’d have cold feet and just to go along with the ride regardless. I know that’s not useful. You just keep swimming and slowly it happens. Can take a few months, but you get there.
Be prepared for it to take a while, be prepared to maybe be quite afraid and maybe even miserable and probably a little lonely in the knowledge that it will pay off, and then one day you’ll realise you haven’t felt that way for some time.
