In retrospect, I think protecting people from having to learn their own fallibility is one of the worst things you can do as a friend. You have not only doomed your friendship, but you have damaged that person’s growth.

It doesn't look like self pity but more like an introspective exploration of yourself/your experiences with other people. So far it has been a nice "food for thought" thread (this one and the other)
Im glad that’s how it comes across :) it feels very self-indulgent and I’m itching to write a disclaimer along the lines of ‘btw guys I’m not saying that my only faults are being too loyal, I can be a right twat’ or some bs but have been resisting because not everything needs it
