I am certainly not the protag for gorillas on rope bridges lol I’m an always happy when my fellow writers get good news but today I got word of another job I got passed up for after a really rigorous interview process and it made me feel super average and whiny.

I’m very happy for the person they chose and everyone is like “well you got an interview/a spot to compete at least out of 30/500/1000/3000 applications/subs” which is true but hard to put on a resume without feeling average? I’ll be happy tomorrow and try for something else.

Yeah, I get that. The feeling sucks, no matter how people try to frame it. Please know, however, that this is not a reflection of your worth or your future prospects. You’ll get there. Just not the route you imagined.
