In my current studio I’m the only representative of my discipline. On one hand, that means I have something different and unique to bring to the table. On the other, it means that if I don’t represent the interests of narrative, they stand to get overlooked.
As such, I’ve been required to do a full 360 back to what I was told not to be previously. That’s roughy where I am now — back where I was — but I’m still being asked to further improve my confidence... which is nice.

Before I was kinda treated like I didn’t have enough experience to challenge more experienced colleagues. Now I’m being told that my opinion remains valid. If I’m wrong, I learn; if I’m not, our product benefits, and as such so does the whole team.

But that won’t happen at all if I’m not empowered to be able to challenge decisions. Thankfully, in my current role, I am :)
