People not confiding can happen for many reasons, and it’s rarely because they don’t feel they can confide in you specifically. It’s a very intimate, scary thing and it rarely happens without someone else prompting.

The burden of noticing doesn’t rest on your shoulders :) It’s nice to check in on folks occasionally if you know them/notice something is up, but you’re not a mind reader, you’re not responsible for keeping everyone happy and not noticing things you had no/little way of knowing..
