Doing some research for a talk, and I’m interested to hear other people’s stories about how they got into narrative design, the routes they took, what they studied and did before, how they made the leap etc. Start from the beginning. Tell me your narrative design story :)

I will definitely say that I've got to this point through the power of networking - each job has been connected somehow to the one before. My main piece of advice is "if you're in the UK, GO TO FERAL VECTOR"

The games industry here is super small and generally really friendly. I wouldn't go to FV thinking "I want to meet [Big Name Dev] because they're a good industry connection"...

...but if you wanting to get stuck in and chat to awesome people, you'll make *friends*, and friends, not connections, are what get you gigs.
