Also... common writing advice is just that, advice. It’s not law. Break the rules if it suits/improves the work, but be prepared for it to be the wrong call. If it is, people will tell you and you can edit it.

Also... if several people feed back on the same thing, it needs addressing. They might not even be right about why it’s a problem, but the fact that it’s standing out and interrupting the flow of reading is indicative that there’s an issue.
