This. I find it aggravating when people treat professional writing flippantly because of its accessibility. When it’s your full time career and you’ve spent your whole life working towards it, and somebody else acts like they could do your job on the side, it’s really diminishing
Anyone can write, but there’s no way around having to put in that effort and those hours in order to write really well, and it peeves me when people dismiss that and make me feel like those years were wasted, or like I’m inferior for having to take that time.
